School is out, and the Stoughton Public Library is ready with some ideas if your child doesn’t know what to do with all that newfound free time.
The Bookish Buds Reading Club will be at Halloran Park on Pierce Street from 2:30-5:30 Monday afternoon. Teenagers in grades 6-12 are invited to come by with their book. No registration is necessary.
On Tuesday, the Teen Space will begin its summer hours, 1:00-4:00 in the afternoon. The Teen Space has board games, card games, role playing games, and trivia. You can also bring a book if you don’t feel like a game. The Teen Space is open for teenagers in grades 6-12. No registration is required.
Wednesday features Arts and Crafts in the Teen Space. Supplies will be provided if you are feeling creative.
Children ages 5-11 and their caregivers are invited to Drop in Chess Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Some instruction will be provided, but children are expected to have a basic understanding of the game.
For the younger Stoughton residents, Teddy Bear Storytime will start at 6:00 Wednesday evening in the Children’s Craft Room. Children ages 4-7 and their stuffed friends are invited to celebrate the long school year’s end with a story. Pajamas are encouraged.
Thursday morning at 10:00 is Storytime at Halloran Park. Storytime will be held for children up to age 12 and runs until 10:30. In the event of rain, it will be inside the library.
The Teen Space will be open for video games on Thursday afternoon, 1:00-4:00. Teenagers in grades 6-12 are welcome to come in and play Wii, Switch, PS2, and PS4. Teens do not need to register for this activity.
Drop-in Scrabble will be in the Library’s Conference Room, located on the top floor, from 1:00-4:30 on Thursday afternoon. The event is open to adults.
There will no events on Friday as the library is closed in observance of Independence Day, and the library will be closed on Saturdays during the summer.
