You’ve heard sleep is overrated, or maybe you’ve heard you can sleep when you’re dead. Both of these things may be true for some, but I’d rather have some overrated sleep than no sleep. As for the being dead part: Sure, I could sleep when I’m dead, but I can also sleep while I’m alive and then sleep some more when I’m dead.
Get your Rest, You’ll Need it
Parents are always on the go. They’re going to work; they’re doing pick-ups and drop-offs. There are errands to run, groceries and other necessaries to buy. We get up early and make sure the miserable little darlings are vertical and out of the house in time for school. We need to make it to work. Throw in some doctor’s appointments and a little meal-prep, and you have the makings of a busy day.
If you’re lucky, you can fit a nap in your schedule. Otherwise, you can hope for an earlier bedtime. The reality is that probably won’t happen. Something came up during the evening, or you forgot something you were supposed to do earlier that day. Oh well.
As a trophy-husband and award-winning father (just ask Wife and the Miracles of Christ), it’s important for me the sleep I get is restful. I don’t hit the snooze button. I roll out of bed and face the day.
Like I said, sleep is important for everyone, and everyone has their own way of sleeping. Some sleep on their back, some sleep on their side or their stomach. Some people snore, some people talk in their sleep. Everyone has their own way when it comes to sleeping.
Your Pillow is Important
What mattress are you using? Firm? Soft? Is it an adjustable mattress where you can sit up and read for a little before calling it a night? Do you adjust the firmness of it. Some people like a firm mattress, and some like it to be a little softer.
It’s the same with pillows. Some people like a soft pillow, others like a softer pillow. You don’t want it to be too big, unless you want to wake up with a crick in your neck when the alarm sounds.
There’s a lot that goes into a good night’s sleep. You may not realize this, because you’re just focused on surviving the day and making it to Dreamland. Thankfully, there are people whose business it is to make sure you get a good night’s sleep so you can face the day when it’s time to say, “Good morning, Starshine.”

Some of these people come from iSense. They know how important it is for daddies and mommies to get a good night’s sleep before the madness of the morning descends upon the whole household. iSense makes mattresses and bedding to help you get the rest you need at night. These good people are aware of the struggles I face from sun-up to sundown, so they wanted to send me something to make it easier for me to answer the shrill of my alarm that disturbs me in the midst of my slumber. For my pain and weariness, they sent me their FlexiCool Adjustable Pillow.
Why is this Pillow so Great?
iSense’s pillow offers a lot for sleepy daddies and mommies. To begin with, it’s a comfortable pillow. What makes it adjustable? The Flexicool Adjustable pillow is filled with cross-cut foam pieces that can be removed in order to get your desired thickness and firmness or softness. Liking a nice, firm pillow, I have left the pillow the way I got it. The dimensions and level of firmness are perfect for me. If you want something not so firm, simply unzip the pillow and remove some of the foam until you get your desired level.
According to iSense, “The pillow’s FlexiCool Technology—featuring a cool-to-the-touch, moisture-wicking cover and gel-infused foam—helps dissipate heat, creating a refreshing, breathable sleep experience.” There is a slight coolness to this pillow, which can be important if you tend to overheat under blankets at night. I didn’t notice a big change when it came to cooling-down, but we’re in the throes of Winter when it’s already cooled down enough for us, so I’ll give you a better opinion of that when the weather warms up again.
That being said, it doesn’t take away from the pillow’s comfort. You’ll get comfort and support from iSense, and you’ll be able to answer your alarm with better sleep when the morning comes.
Limited Time Discount
As mentioned before, this pillow makes a great gift for that person on your list who is hard to shop for, or you could just buy it for yourself and get better rest. iSense is offering a discount for a limited time. You can save 20% on your purchase of a King ($149 $119) or Queen-sized pillow ($124 $99) when you order from their website.
Parenting isn’t easy. Rest can help a little with that. Try a new pillow. It will make you comfortable, and you can wake up rested and (somewhat) ready to face whatever challenges the Miracles of Christ have for you when the morning comes.
